April 4th and 5th: Monster Motornationals are coming to the Holmes Center. The website (theholmescenter. com) says - The event begins at 8PM on both nights. Tickets are $16 for adults and $6 for kids (12 and under) on Friday and $10 for kids on Saturday. (Hat tip to Karen)

• The cutoff date for the Watauga County Schools pre-k program will change for the 2008-2009 school year. For the 2008-09 school year, children must be 4 years old on or before August 31, 2008 to enroll in the program. Applications for the pre-kindergarten program will be available April 1 from any school in the Watauga County Schools system. (click for more info)

Two Rivers Community School:

Thanks to friend and Two Rivers parent, Lessa, for providing the following information on Kindergarten Registration.

Now thru April 8th: Call 828-262-5411 to schedule pickup of an application and get it turned in ASAP
April 8th and 17th: Open house from 9am to 11am
April 10th and 15th: Open house at 6pm

There are only 8 kindergarten spaces open for enrollment. We have 12 upcoming siblings!
1st and 2nd grade are full. 3rd - 8th are very limited.
The lottery will be May 2nd.

Accepted kindergarten students will have kinder orientation on May 13th
